Yard Sale, June 9, 2001
| We'd like to thank the many folks who donated items
to the yard sale and those that came to volunteer and to buy. It
was a lovely day in the back yard, some great deals were made and
we raised about $400 for the Brown House.
The photo at right was taken toward the end as clean up was starting and the super deals were being made. |

Antique Appraisal day, April 24, 2001
|
|
Our spring Antique Appraisal day was April 24, 2001.
The wonderful people of Aquidneck
Place (Assisted Living Center) hosted the event for us again
this year.
We also want to thank appraiser Michael Westman (135 Spring St. Newport) for donating his time and expertise to our cause again. One of the interesting articles that turned up this time was a Conselor Appointment document from 1864, signed by both President Abraham Lincoln and Secretary of State William H. Seward. |

Our new sign is up in front of
the house. (10/7/00) We hope this will bring more visibility to
the project by letting people know what is going on there. Thank you to Reynolds Signs of Portsmouth (847-6732) for helping us with it. |

The May 13th "Spring Fling" was held
back again by foul weather, but those who did come visit had fun!
Below is Middletown resident Melissa Ferreira enjoying a ride on
"Beau" the pony. |
Several groups had tables at the yard sale. The
weather may have kept people away but didn't dampen the spirits of
the people who came. We hope to make the yard sale a once a month
event. |
| Rain forced us to cancel
many of the games/rides we had planned for our Easter Egg Hunt
Fundraiser but we held the hunt anyway - several times! About 60 people braved the weather to join in the hunt, get some goodies at the bake sale and to see the house. The jelly bean jar had 1237 beans in it - the contest went to Laura Greichen who gave the winning guess of 1207! Thank you to everyone! ![]() |

It may have rained (sleet!) at the 44th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in Newport (3/11/00) but that didn't stop our intrepid volunteers from trying to garner some local support for the project! |
